Refuting the Many Lies of Moira Dunn's Campaign

Ms. Dunn has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars running a smear campaign with no evidence.  Last quarter alone she spent nearly $300,000 on false TV advertising.  See HERE.  That does not include what she is spending in the current quarter.  She accuses Mark Batinick of many untrue things including wanting to raise legislative salaries.  HERE is a picture of her "source" on a TV screen.  It cites a press release by Jim Durkin, not Mark Batinick.  Even so, if you read that release, it has nothing to do with the many things Ms. Dunn accuses Mark Batinick of wanting to do.  Please read the release HERE.  For over a year, Mark has had on his website that he will not take a legislative pension.  He is also has advocated for a reduction in pay.  Read his plan HERE.

She uses the same false "source" in her mailers.  See HEREHEREHERE, and HERE.

Why is Moira Dunn lying about Mark Batinick?

Why can't Moira Dunn run on the Democrat's record or her own record?

Why doesn't Moira Dunn even have a website stating her positions?

Mark Batinick has a 39 page plan to make Illinois great again.  It states all of his positions.  You can view it HERE.

Ms. Dunn also accuses Mark Batinick of sending out a mailer that "crossed the line".  A "concerned voter" wrote a letter to the editor.  You can see it HERE.  Her name is Heather Kazmark.  The "concerned citizen" is  being PAID by the Dunn campaign.  See HERE.

A copy of the mailer can be viewed HERE.  We will let you decide for yourself if you find it offensive.

"EXTREME POSITIONS" and "NO EXCEPTIONS" -- not true

One group supporting Ms. Dunn is Personal PAC.  Eric Zorn of the Chicago Tribune called Personal PAC's interpretations "Misleading and Disreputable".  You can read his article HERE.  Even better, check out this case study and watch the video HERE.  There is another article HERE.

HERE is the mailer they sent against Mark Batinick.  They have also been doing phone calls against Mark Batinick.  He didn't fill out their questionnaire because he felt they are were dishonest organization.  Because he didn't fill out their questionnaire they use it as "evidence" to say anything they want about his positions.  This is dishonest and an excellent example of the problem with politics these days.

Moira Dunn Found in Violation of Campaign Finance Disclosure Laws

In the primary, Moira Dunn filed 3 quarterlies with the State Board of Elections.  None of them were filed properly and they had to be amended multiple times.  See HERE.  The amendments were only made after a complaint was filed with the State Board of Elections.  Despite Ms. Dunn being represented by one of the most powerful election attorneys in the state, Michael Kasper, the hearing examaner sided with the complainant.  Results HERE.

The two most egregious violations were failure to report a $7500 contribution and failure to disclose 13 of 16 entries.  That's right.  In the second quarter, Ms. Dunn only had 16 entries but failed to disclose 13 of them.  Documenation is HERE.

If Ms. Dunn can't keep track of 16 entries for an account having less than $25,000 in it, why should we expect that she can handle balancing the state budget which is over $30,000,000,000?

Shouldn't an attorney and third generation politician know better than to blatantly break election law?

Moira Dunn's Deep Deep Ties to Mike Madigan and the Chicago Machine

Despite attempting to portray herself differently, Moira Dunn is deeply connected to Mike Madigan and the Chicago Machine.  Here are the facts:

1.  Dennis Grosskopf was the winner of the Democratic primary for the 97th State Rep seat.  Despite this, Moira was introduced to lobbyists in Springfield by Mike Madigan well before Dennis "withdrew" from the race.  Madigan also did this well before anyone in the 97th district knew they were going to be told who the candidate was.  Here is a link to the flyer and initial article LINK.  The RSVP date on the flyer is May 23rd.  Certainly the flyer was prepared well before that.  Dennis Grosskopf did not announce his removal until June 13th.  Here is the LINK to that story.  This raises several questions:

Why did Mike Madigan pick Moira Dunn?

Do we want Mike Madigan choosing our representation?

2.  In Moira Dunn's primary, she broke several campaign finance laws.  A detailed account of this mismanagement of funds is in a different article.  However, it is also important to note who represented Moira Dunn.  Here attorney is the case was Michael Kasper.  Who is Michael Kasper?  Here are some quotes from reputable news sources about him;

"The legendary Michael Kasper, who generally handles election-law cases on behalf of Democratic party Chieftain Michael Madigan."  Chicago Reader April 29, 2010."

"Their lawyer, Democrat Party powerhouse Michael Kasper."  Chicago Sun-Times October 21, 2008.

"His campaign has so much clout it's been able to to use the services of Michael Kasper, an election-law expert who rarely takes on clients unless they're recommended by Daley and Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan."  Chicago Reader February 14, 2003

There are even more if you care to read HERE.  Or HERE.

In fact, according to Michael Kasper's own website, he has represented every Democratic Presidential candidate since 1992.

Despite having such high powered representation, Ms. Dunn was still found in violation of election law.

3.  As of October 15 2014, Moira Dunn has received nearly $400,000 in support from two of Michael Madigan's committees.  See HERE.

Moira Dunn has some serious connections to the Chicago machine that is destroying this state.  Is this the type of person we want representing us?

Moira Dunn's Co-Workers Rate Her "Not Recommended".

The Illinois State Bar Association conducts a survey of attorneys of all ISBA members in the circuit or district from which a candidate seeks elections.  In the primary, Moira Dunn's own peers gave her a rating of "Not Recommended".  In fact out of the 12 candidates rated she received the lowest score -- including a 27.08 out of 100 on legal ability.  Documentation is HERE.  Here is a LINK to a news article on it.

The verdict is in.  The people who know her best rate her "not recommended".
